How do I transfer data from an Android device to a new phone?

Transferring data from an old Android phone to a new one can be done in three ways: using Google Drive, a USB cable, or a dedicated transfer app.

Method 1: Transfer with Google Drive backup

  1. Back up your old phone:

    a. Go to Settings > Systems > Google > Backup.

    b. Select Backup now.

  2. On your new phone, during setup, choose Restore from Google Backup.

  3. Sign in to your Google Account and follow the prompts to restore your data.

Method 2: Transfer with a USB cable

  1. Use the original USB-C cable to connect both phones during setup.

  2. Follow the on-screen instructions to select and transfer your data.

Method 3: Transfer with a dedicated app

  1. Download a data transfer app on both devices.

  2. Follow the app’s specific steps to move your files.

Tip: Backing up your old phone before starting is recommended for added security.
